ipDatatel, Inc. (IPD) was honored with Best in Show for the Residential Security and Monitoring Category Award at the Security Industry Association (SIA) New Product Showcase (NPS) at the International Security Conference (ISC) West on Wednesday for its Cellular Broadband Alarm Transmitter (BAT) product.
The cellular BAT is a universal communications platform for the security industry that transmits alarms via Internet and cellular communications, and adds remote device control (virtual keypad) through any Internet- connected devices such as a laptop, iPhone, iPad, or Android. Additionally, the cellular BAT can provide instant alarm notifications through text, email and computerized voice alerts. Extended features include interactive control of HVAC, lighting and locks from a single smartphone application.
IPD is focused on building low-cost high-feature interactive products that are easy to use and provide the consumer with security and convenience. IPD is an engineering, design and manufacturing firm located in Sugar Land, Texas. All equipment is built in the USA by ipDatatel.
The NPS, sponsored by the SIA, is held annually in conjunction with ISC West at the Sands Expo and Convention Center in Las Vegas to recognize the best security product innovations. ISC West is the largest security show in the world.
This year’s competition included many new products and services from some of the largest security manufacturers in the country. The NPS judging took place on Tuesday with judges representing various segments of the industry viewing the presentations. Judges reviewed the entrant’s equipment along with written materials and specifications submitted and, in many cases, visited the ISC West booths for a closer look at the innovative equipment.
“Each year, the companies competing in SIA’s New Product Showcase at ISC West present the leading-edge security solutions that are shaping the industry,” said SIA CEO Don Erickson. “These new technologies and solutions are the drivers that are moving the security industry forward.”
